The 2024 Brisbane Pride Queens Ball was truly an unforgettable evening, bursting with vibrant colours, fantastic performances, and a strong sense of community spirit. Held at the iconic Brisbane Town Hall on June 29, the event gathered the best of Brisbane's LGBTQIA+ community for a night of celebration and recognition.

As we approached Brisbane Town Hall, it was beautifully illuminated in Pride colours, setting a perfect tone for the evening. Inside, the dome glowed with a stunning rainbow gradient, creating an enchanting atmosphere that captured the essence of Pride.

The night featured incredible performances, with Samantha Jade delivering a show-stopping set. Her powerful voice and captivating presence had everyone on their feet, singing and dancing along. Garret Lyon also dazzled the audience with two electrifying performances. The drag showcases from Ability and Runway were spectacular and full of energy, highlighting the immense talent within our community and adding to the celebration.

Palace Ipswich was honoured to be nominated for Drag Event of the Year, a testament to our team's hard work and dedication. Our own Iona Toyboy was also up for Drag Performer of the Year, and Banshees Bar and Artspace was nominated for Venue of the Year. Although we didn't take home any awards this year, being recognised among Brisbane's best was a victory in itself. These nominations reflect the vibrant and inclusive environment we strive to create.

The evening was a beautiful celebration of the entire community's achievements. The energy in the room was palpable, with everyone coming together to honour the incredible contributions and successes of the nominees and winners alike.

The Palace Ipswich team and Iona Toyboy were thrilled with the nominations. Being acknowledged on such a prestigious platform is a significant accomplishment, motivating us to keep pushing boundaries and delivering top-notch performances and events.

One of the most heartwarming aspects of the night was seeing the community come together in such a joyful and supportive way. The sense of camaraderie and mutual respect among attendees was truly inspiring.

Reflecting on the evening, we feel grateful to be part of such a vibrant community. The 2024 Brisbane Pride Queens Ball was a night to remember, filled with great entertainment, heartfelt moments, and a celebration of diversity and inclusivity.
